Oct 16 & 17 Weekend in Jogjakarta

We traveled to Jogjakarta last weekend to catch up with friends visiting from Canberra.  We stayed at our favorite place (so far) on Java Island: d'Omah, in Tembi Village, about 20 minutes by car from Jogjakarta.  d'Omah is owned and run by Warwick Purser, whom some consider to be the Jim Thompson of Indonesia, for his pioneering work to build the Indonesian crafts industry.  Warwick is also now the honorary consul of Mexico; hence, the plaque at the entrance.

On Saturday morning, we visited Prambanan, a 1000+ years-old Hindu/Buddhist temple complex about an hour away from d'Omah.  Photos of Prambanan and of our weekend at d'Omah, which included friends from Jakarta, are available via: http://www.flickr.com/photos/clayton_bond/

  2. Thanks for posting this! I haven't been to Jogja yet. I know, I have been here for 6 months already and yes, I have not stepped my foot into Jogja. Shame on me! d"omah looks like a very nice place. I love the photo of Prambanan Temple Complex. It looks gorgeous!!!
